Madison Beach Park

100_5369After swimming and tanning for a while, I went and got some food at McGilvra’s. The Pita Bread was warm and good. The Spinach and Artichoke dip was okay. I think I have had better dip but I have not had better Pita Bread. 100_5366 100_5367I ordered the beef stew with a side salad. I asked for Ranch but got Honey mustard. Since I have been trying to expand my food choices I kept the Honey mustard. The little slices of hard bread were good with the stew.  And I had a slice of caramel cheesecake for dessert. The slices of strawberry alongside were so good. The way the caramel was drizzled onto the strawberries….so good!100_5368

After eating, I went and took some more pictures of the beach and the water. I can not believe that this is my first summer coming to this spot. I have been in Seattle way too long and have not taken advantage of the scenery.

Now that I am desperate to get out of Seattle, I am finding all these things that make living in Seattle not so bad.

Captain Blacks Monday August 23, 2010

Came out to Captain Blacks for some beer and some food. I am trying to drink my way through all the draft beers at the local watering holes. I did not get here early enough to get some sun but the sunset was nice. I forget how good the food is here.

I wish I had brought my camera out with me tonight. This Chicken Mac and the Cheese Curds are so good. Even the Inversion IPA is good tonight. Normally, I do not like IPAs.

Of the 5 beers on tap at Captain Blacks, tonight I drank the Blue Moon Belgian, Inversion IPA, and Rainier. Peroni and Manny’s I have had before at other places. Feel no need to drink them again this evening.

Finishing my night here with a Rainier.

Upcoming Posts

I need to work on a bunch of posts. Maybe if I make a list, that will compel me to work on some of them.
1. Tahiti part 3
2. Dolphins
3. Birthday Night 2010
4. Highway 1
5. Avenue of the Giants
6. Oregon Coast
7. August 1
8. Work
9. Apartment
Plus some random ones that I do not want to mention right now. The hardest one that I think to write will be the Tahiti one. Too many things that I want to say that I can not bring myself to talk about yet. But then again, the longer I do not talk about it the harder talking about it becomes.
Yes, the vague musings of my life are horrible.

Piranha 3D

Ryan and Mary wanted to go see Piranha 3D Friday night. I agreed to meet them for the 10:10 show at the Regal 16 in downtown Seattle. I got downtown early so I started looking for a place to get a drink. An old buddy works at Von’s so I thought I would see if he was working. Chris was working but he did not have any open tables so I went looking for someplace else to drink. I ended up in GameWorks at the lounge chairs near the Pike Street entrance. I forget what I drank but it came in a nice big glass. There were some flat screen televisions on the wall showing ESPN. Still feels weird to watch television after the past year. I finished the beer right before Ryan and Mary made it downtown. I met them outside and we went to the movie.

The movie itself was a lot better than I expected. The laughs and gore started early and did not stop. Amazingly enough, the movie brought the tits and ass genre back to the big screen. I was not expecting all the boobies. As good as the boobies were, the story was a little bit better.

The fact that the writers put in a reason why the local scientist knows what the piranha are was a good touch. For me this detail made the movie.

Updating is a little slow right now

I have a lot of blogs I have been wanting to write. I have been a little slow on getting them done since I got back to Seattle. I have redone one three times now but keep losing my work. I do not know why I had not saved the post. I probably had not done that much work on it.

One of the things I wanted to do with this time I am in Seattle is work on my writing. Now that I am writing again, I have a lot of years to make up. I hope to get some writing done this weekend. As well as during the furlough week. I need to finish up my vacation posts.

Since I got back from vacation, I have slept a lot. I have watched a lot of movies via Netflix. Netflix streaming through my PS3 is an evil I should not allow myself.

Yet I am not working on the posts as much as I should be doing.

Did my power port on my computer break today? Am I going to have to buy a new computer this year? SHIT!

Sunday at Colman Pool

Amy wanted to go out to http://www.seattle.gov/parks/aquatics/colman.htm

I had wanted to try out the pool so I met her at the pool. Fun time was had. The water slide was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I even managed to convince myself to jump off the high dive.

There was a line to get into the pool. But the view of the sound was lovely.

The day was gorgeous. The pool was warm. I did manage to hurt my left big toe on the second jump. Totally worth the pain though. I could not get my shoes on the next day though.

Day at the Lake

Saturday August 14, 2010 was a good day. I had somehow convinced Mary to go the lake near my Aunt’s on Friday night. Mary managed to bring Ryan along with her. We got to Auntie’s before 14:00 and spent most of the afternoon in the water. We did a little bit of the trail around the lake before we ate dinner at my Aunt’s.

I managed to get the inflatable Kayak across the lake and back. That was quite a struggle. I kept spinning myself around as I paddled.

And when I got back, I fell out. That was the best part of the kayak trip.
