New Bookcases

I moved this year. I have set up several bookcases. There are 6 tall, 4 short, and two media cases. I also have two small tables.

The tall bookcases have five shelves and the short cases have three shelves. I have the shelves setup to take comic book boxes. Currently sitting mostly empty. I have comic book boxes on the bottom shelf. 2 boxes sit on the shelf sitting perpendicular.

The fourth short case holds my media and the two media cases has my non comic books and holds up the TV.
Video game stuff  like the Halo vehicle and WarCraft goes with the TV area.

3rd bookcase is facing out of the space. I may put non toy and non comic stuff on that one.

One of those tables is holding my fairy chess set and board.
A short for miscellaneous like Godzilla and Lego.
A short bookcase for DC.
Doctor Who is going to be on those shelves.

I am reserving a tall bookcase for Marvel.
A tall case for Star Wars.
That Star Wars case may end up holding my ECCC and SDCC books too.
That leaves 4 tall bookcases for GI Joe. That is not going to be enough space for my collection. I am not sure I have the space to add more cases. Those 7 tortilla boxes are going to fill up that space quickly.

01/08/2011

Stayed in bed for the most part. Watched some movies via Netflix. I was expecting a call from someone to come clean my apartment. This is one the problems with doing business with friends. Easier to flake on your friends when it comes to business. You know your friends will understand when other things come up. Though when you are left in the lurch, understanding only goes so far.

I went outside one time and the sun was out. I should have gone walking but I went back inside and watched movies.

Empire Records Fan Edition, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Octane, part of The Fast and the Furious were some of the movies I watched.

Around 7 pm, I turned on some music and fell asleep. I was going to walk out to the Blue Moon for a No Pants Party/show but falling asleep seemed like a better idea to my body. Never mind that I had slept most of the morning. Only in little bits and never more than an hour but sleep is sleep nowadays. As much as I feel like I have been sleeping, I have not slept more than 4 hours at a time in a long time. I think that means I need to get a better bed.

Boring day, flaky friend, apartment still not clean. Though I did do laundry. At least I saved some money.

Drive out to Redmond

Took Ryan out to the Summit last night. We were drinking and having a good time. I was waiting to buy another round and was behind this woman. She was being carded and taking a while to order a drink. I heard mention of not having any money so I motioned to Colt (bartender) to put her drink on my tab. I invited her back to the table to join Ryan and myself. Long conversation followed. Linda came and joined us. Four people at the table with the new person supplying most of the conversation. Which worked for all of us. We did not have to rehash the same old conversations that we three always have together.

The girl gave me a new nickname, “Captain Spaulding”.

I guess I looked like Captain Spaulding from the 2 movies, “The Devil’s Rejects” and “House of 1,000 Corpses.” I may have to dress like the Captain at the next costume event I attend.

The night was pretty good and I had a lot of fun. Though one thing did stand out.

Best Part of the night:

Coming back from Redmond at 02:00 a.m. and getting the same parking spot outside the side entrance of my apartment building.

Piranha 3D

Ryan and Mary wanted to go see Piranha 3D Friday night. I agreed to meet them for the 10:10 show at the Regal 16 in downtown Seattle. I got downtown early so I started looking for a place to get a drink. An old buddy works at Von’s so I thought I would see if he was working. Chris was working but he did not have any open tables so I went looking for someplace else to drink. I ended up in GameWorks at the lounge chairs near the Pike Street entrance. I forget what I drank but it came in a nice big glass. There were some flat screen televisions on the wall showing ESPN. Still feels weird to watch television after the past year. I finished the beer right before Ryan and Mary made it downtown. I met them outside and we went to the movie.

The movie itself was a lot better than I expected. The laughs and gore started early and did not stop. Amazingly enough, the movie brought the tits and ass genre back to the big screen. I was not expecting all the boobies. As good as the boobies were, the story was a little bit better.

The fact that the writers put in a reason why the local scientist knows what the piranha are was a good touch. For me this detail made the movie.

Updating is a little slow right now

I have a lot of blogs I have been wanting to write. I have been a little slow on getting them done since I got back to Seattle. I have redone one three times now but keep losing my work. I do not know why I had not saved the post. I probably had not done that much work on it.

One of the things I wanted to do with this time I am in Seattle is work on my writing. Now that I am writing again, I have a lot of years to make up. I hope to get some writing done this weekend. As well as during the furlough week. I need to finish up my vacation posts.

Since I got back from vacation, I have slept a lot. I have watched a lot of movies via Netflix. Netflix streaming through my PS3 is an evil I should not allow myself.

Yet I am not working on the posts as much as I should be doing.

Did my power port on my computer break today? Am I going to have to buy a new computer this year? SHIT!
