Atheist Sign

100_6988

This is supposed to be on a bus. I find it funny that the Atheist gets tampered with but the Mormon signs are left alone. Does this tell you that religious people are not very tolerant individuals or is that just what I pick up?

For a long time I would say I was Atheist because of the reasons that people turn to a higher power – Alcoholics Anonymous, personal irresponsibility, and other reasons. Then I realized that I was Agnostic not because I want to believe in the Jew Christian God but because I like comic books and want to believe in the Greek and Norse Gods. Thor, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Athena, and other gods from those Pantheons. I have liked Greek mythologies since I was a little and that made me realize that to believe in the possibility of those Gods, I would have to be Agnostic not Atheist.

Recently, I have learned of another movement as well, Skeptics. I have not done any research into Skepticism so I really do not know how that would fit in my beliefs. To my quick thoughts on the matter, I would believe that Skepticism is the movement for science to replace belief. That is probably not accurate but that is my quick thought on the matter.

The other reason that I find myself more drawn to Agnostic beliefs is the fact that I want to believe in Santa Clause and Satan. Santa brings presents. Goodwill and peace to man. I think Santa is an excellent reason to have a winter holiday.

Satan was kicked out of heaven for wanting equal treatment as humans. Angels were to be subservient to humans and Satan/Lucifer did not like that. He felt that humans and angels should be treated equally. To me that makes Lucifer/Satan the first person to fight for Equal rights. At least that is the perception on events as they were presented to me a long time ago.

Usually I keep these thoughts in my head but seeing this sign torn off a bus and put next to the trash cans, just got to me this evening.

Free Symphony Day

Sunday I woke up and wanted a Bloody Mary. Being that it was noon by the time I started moving, I went over to the Summit Pub. I got my drink plus a PBR. I got to watch some football and enjoy drinking in the morning. After my second PBR, I received a text to meet someone at the Capitol Hill Farmer’s Market. I went to meet her and while I was waiting, I went and got a slice over at Z’s Pizza. They do a good slice plus a beer for an okay price. I got to watch the end of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Scary Movie 2. The station that was on was showing movies with Charlie Sheen. The person finally showed up. We left for Benaroya Hall in downtown. The Seattle Symphony was performing and putting on free events all day. I enjoyed seeing the symphony. Plus there was beer in the lobby.

At the end of the day, I bought two tickets for Friday October 14. Now I need to find a date.

07/31/2011

I finally woke up for good around 22:00. I got dressed in a shirt, tie, and slacks. I could not decide what to do all day so I ended up sleeping. I finally left the house a little before 23:00. I started walking around Broadway trying to figure out a good place to get some food.

I spent part of my night at the Garage drinking. Then I spent 56 minutes bowling 5 games. I find it hard to believe that I spent 11 minutes a game. And my best game was the 5th with a 149 score.

Game 1 – 96

Game 2 – 110

Game 3 – 109 –

Game 4 - 99 with 2 strikes in the 10th, thought I was only going to get a 90 if I struck out

Game 5 - 149 3 strikes

I ended that 4th game so well that I decided to bowl a 5th. The 5th started well and I did okay. I think I should have relaxed earlier in the night, I would have bowled higher games. Either the combination of relaxation and alcohol or just a little bit more concentration earlier in the night would have increased my scores. At $5 a lane for an hour, I think I should spend more time bowling.

100_6608My birthday cake with some candles. I thought I had a picture of the candles on fire but I can not seem to find it. It was quite a blaze.

After bowling I stopped at the Sun Liquor Distillery to get a screwdriver. Then I made my way home.

Summit Public House opened early this morning for the Seahawks playoff game.
Seattle Seahawks at Chicago Bears
Been sitting at the Summit Public House since a little before 10 am watching the Seahawks losing to the Chicago Bears. The game has been fun to watch but very disappointing at times. A lot of dropped passes by the Seahawks.
Drank a Screwdriver, ate a breakfast burrito, then a Bloody Mary. Water after each drink. Been working on a Guinness since the start of the second quarter. I started fast and early, now time to take it slow. Halftime show is giving me time to write.
I want to go over to Top Pot and see if the line is small enough for me to get a donut. A donut sounds good after the burrito and the drinks.
The end of the game was exciting. The Seahawks started to make a comeback. A little too late to win the game though.
New York Jets at New England Patriots
Less people in the bar but so much noisier. Still early in the game so the excitement is still here for the game. Crowd is starting to filter back into the bar. The Jets are up 14-3 at 7:35 left in the third quarter. Jets are making Brady and the Patriots look not so good. Up until the last 2 minutes of the third quarter. What are the Jets doing?
14-11 at the end of the 3rd.
21-11 with the Patriots making some strong moves down the field. Jets got the ball back.
Game has been good until the 3:42 mark. But Patriots got it back and moving down the field.
I have been in the bar since 10:00. Time now 16:24. Heavy drinking to start the day. Since the second quarter of the first game, I have only had 3 drinks though. I have been taking my time with the beers. I have made sure I have been drinking water all day too.
2 minute warning and the Patriots get within 7. 21-14
Onside kick went in the Jets favor. Great end of game. Jets win 28-21.
I need to get downtown. I want to pick up my holds at the library before Tuesday. If I get down there before 18:00, I can watch some new movie tonight.
Made it down to the Library. Now to go back to the hill. Do I go to the bar since it is so early or go home and watch some movies. I should probably do some cleaning since my brother is coming to town tomorrow.

I went for a walk today. Found a path through some woods that started at St. Marks. I know I took a picture of the sign at the top of the path but I can not find the picture.

100_5792 The path had some nice switchbacks but the footing was fun. And by fun I mean muddy, leafy, and slippery. 100_5793100_5794100_5795100_5796100_5797All the water from the hill was running into this stream. 100_5798100_5799100_5800

100_5801One of the two bridges I encountered on this trail. 100_5802100_5803100_5804100_5805100_5806100_5807100_5808100_5809100_5810100_5811100_5812100_5813One of the many logs across the path down the hill.

100_5814100_5815100_5816100_5817All the way at the top of the hill is St. Marks Cathedral.

100_5818100_5819This was a plant along the sidewalk near the University Village Shopping Center. I walked out there to get a Jamba Juice. And killed 45 minutes at Office Depot playing Angry Birds on a device similar to an iPad.

Then I went and caught a bus back to Capitol Hill. I went grocery shopping then went to the bar for dinner and a beer.

Work with a Dentist visit in the afternoon. The views from the chair at the Dentist’s is very nice.
100_5789100_5790
A walk home after work. I was going to go to the Seattle Art Museum after work  to see Picasso but the crowd was big. I did not feel like I would be able to handle the crowd. The exhibit closes on the 17th. Mark is visiting so I think I will take him to the show.
100_5791Walking to the Seattle Art Museum, I passed this sign for the West Edge Neighborhood. I know every little block in Seattle wants to have its own identity but sometimes the names and the neighborhoods just seem silly to me.

1/3/2011 A Day Off

Woke up early like normal. I even got ready early. But I did not start the day until late. Started the day late with breakfast at Glo’s. Went back to the apartment and watched Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol. A short walk up through the park where I found an iced over body of water.

100_5764100_5765A blurry picture of a dog out on the ice.

100_5768100_5769I kept trying to get a better picture of the ice but my first picture is still the best picture.

100_5770100_5771100_5772An ice chunk above the solid pond.

The ice rink was looking pretty solid. Watching the guy with the kid and the dog out on the ice was very tempting.

Today was a long day. With a lot of walking. Started at a the Promunism Party.  If I remember correctly, Eric at Sun Liquor served me a Screwdriver before I went home.
I woke up early to go do a 5k race with Polar Bear Plunge. The Plunge was so exhilarating. I am tempted to go jump in by myself later this week.
Wore my business suit to the party and my Santa Suit to the 5k. A long day of suits.100_5722100_5723100_5724100_5725100_5726100_5727100_5728100_5729
