On the way back to Seattle From Pullman

Sitting At a Rest Area

The breeze feels real good in this rest area. I am sitting at a picnic table on the I-90 somewhere. I have less than a hundred miles to go to Seattle. I needed to pee so I stopped. My truck needs to cool down some so I am sitting down for a few minutes. There is a WI-FI connection but you have to pay. I am not into paying for wireless service. I took my picture of the action figures on the table. I think it is time to go. 15 minutes of cool down time for the truck is not enough. I really should stay until noon but I am getting sleepy. I need to get back on the road and make sure I am home so I can take a shower and catch the bus to work. I have to be at work at 3pm. That means I have to catch the 2:20 bus. I should get home around 1pm if I leave right now barring any traffic slowdowns. I will probably have to get gas as I get into town. Or maybe earlier if I see a spot to get gas between this rest area and Seattle.

People in Seattle can't Park

I left my house last night around 11:30 p.m.. I walked outside and someone had parked in front of my truck but had backed up so that their vehicle (SUV) was parked on top of my truck.
I said,"they parked on my truck," outloud. It just so happens that the guy who parked the vehicle walked by.
He heard my comment and said," No, it is just parked against it."
I walked around my vehicle, opened up the door, and grabbed my 6 d-cell Maglite out and shined it on the area where his vehicle was on top of mine.
"NO, your vehicle is on top of mine."
"That is how people park in this neighborhood," he said.

That just riled me up. I will not relate the rest of the conversation but I tried to be cool about it but come on. He was totally in the wrong. Not only was he parked past a sign that said no parking east of the sign (he was parked east of the sign) but he backed up onto my vehicle. Trying to say it was just a bump was ridiculous. What really annoys me was that I would not have seen the guy to say anything if I had stepped outside a minute or two later. Plus, a couple months ago, someone else caused damage to the front of my truck in the same manner. They had backed into my vehicle while it was parked. To have two different vehicles do that to my truck is just downright annoying. And of course, neither one of them left a note.

I really need to get a parking space. I barely drive and to be able to have a place to park off the street would be nice.

August 4, 2006 Concert at The Comet on Pike

Jupiter Crash
Indecisive Rhythm
Whiskey Tango

3 bands playing tonight. $5.00 dollar cover charge.

Jupiter Crash was really good. Loud and heavy with a good rhythm. The kind of music I really enjoy.

My friends play in Indecisive Rhythm. I like their sound as well.

I am writing this while Jupiter Crash is still on stage.

August 4, 2006 Seafair Friday

I went to my first Seafair today. It was very hot and the bus trip took forever. I walked a lot and got my head all burned. I had bad sight lines for the air show which is why I went. I could not get good photos of the planes as they flew overhead. I took one or two and missed the photos I should have been taking. It was too hot and I was carrying around too much weight in my backpacks. I had my laptop in one bag and a bunch of water bottles in the other bag. I did find a nice grassy knoll later in the day that I sat at for a while. That was fine. I even was able to get a wireless signal. I also figured out what Mount Baker bus route 14 means. There is a Mount Baker neighborhood in Seattle. Now that I know, I can ride the 14 down there on my days off. Being that there is a place to swim with lifeguards and it is free, I expect to go down there on my days off. One bus down there and one bus back home is a definete can do. I can put my bus pass to good use rather than just going to and from work.

Road trip with some Joes

Snake-Eyes, the Joe figure of myself, and a Slime Egg Dragon whose name I can't recall right now. They are in the passenger side door of my truck. Chilling out on the way to Spokane to visit and help move my brother-in-law. They usually ride in the backpack but I finally found a good spot for them in the truck when I go on road trips.
